The "Unconference" - EdCamp Boston 2011
Yesterday I had the good fortune of being a participant at EdCamp Boston. I have been to a number of conferences, but this was hands down the best day-long learning event I have attended. Driving home I thought about why this was and it took a minute to put my finger on it. NO VENDORS! This was a day filled with over 200 educators dedicated to learning more and freely sharing ideas and experiences. No pretense, no sales pitches...just a great deal of conversation. And the schedule was created by participants based on what participants wanted to discuss and share. It was open, casual and completely engaging. Over 1400 #edcampBos tweets yesterday from fellow participants. WOW. Now I just need to figure out how to read all the fantastic information shared, and follow all the great ideas shared every second on Twitter.
